The first stop is the Triona Donegal Tweed Visitor Center in Ardara for Irish Knitwear shopping. They offer a Weaving Demonstration from one of their Master Weavers on 200 year old Hand Looms. We did some shopping and then walked across the street to see the Church of The Holy Family.
After we arrived Donegal town center, we had a couple hours of free time. We went to visit the ancient Donegal Castle, once the stronghold of the O'Donnell clan.
In the afternoon, we visited an Irish pottery in Belleek - Belleek Pottery. There was a tour to show us the processes of various potteries making. It was interesting. They also have a show room with all kinds of products and will do the international shipping. Since we really can not find anymore space in our house for more decoration stuff, we just enjoyed it and did not buy anything. We also had nice afternoon coffee in their tea room.
There was an optional dinner and we did not attend. But we had a most wonderful dinner in the Kees Hotel’s restaurant.
